SPOKANE, Wash. — It might be getting colder outside but things are heating up in North Spokane.
Houston Texas Hot Chicken opened its second location near Chick-Fil-A on Newport Highway.
Fans of the chicken joint gathered Saturday afternoon, cheering for the competitive eaters and sharing a love for spicy chicken.
Many came to also check out the fancy cars on display for the grand opening.
One local fan was excited to see the location come to North Spokane.
“This one’s a lot closer to me. I love their waffle shake, I crave it every morning. I don’t know if it counts for breakfast but it’s good,” said Rebekah Schweiter.
Schweiter also competed in the eating competition Saturday, but didn’t win.
