Honolulu, HI – Hawaii is in for a breezy weekend, as gusty trade winds continue through Sunday. A high-pressure system north of the islands will bring strong winds, with a Wind Advisory in effect for parts of Maui County and the Big Island. Meanwhile, an upper-level low will bring heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms, particularly to the eastern side of the state. Wind speeds will ease by Sunday night, but expect lingering breeziness into Monday. A remnant front is set to push clouds and showers across windward areas. While conditions stabilize by Tuesday, a slight chance of snow flurries on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa is possible. Drier weather is expected for the rest of the week.
