The Nebraska Huskers have only lost to the Indiana Hoosiers once in volleyball in their series history, way back in 1978. Since then, the Big Red has rattled off 24 consecutive wins against the Hoosiers, and that streak wasn’t in trouble at any point on Saturday night.
Nebraska dismantled Indiana (25-12, 25-17, 25-19) at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, the Huskers’ 19th sweep of the season and 23rd straight win.
The Hoosiers started off OK, jumping in front 5-4 in the first set on an ace. Then, things quickly shifted. A couple of points later, Nebraska started an 11-0 run to take control and cruised to a first frame win from there.
Indiana hit -.088 in the frame with three more errors than kills.
Nebraska carried that momentum over into the second stanza, building a 10-5 lead before another shift. Aided in part by a few Husker errors, Indiana went on its own run to tie the set at 12. That was where it ended, though, as the Big Red responded with a 6-1 run to jump back in front and never let the Hoosiers gain momentum again.
