STRONGSVILLE, OH – Last year, I was sad to hear when CleaveLand Grill had to close their location in Brook Park due to an accidental fire that burned down the store. In my humble opinion, the grocery store made one of the best burgers in Greater Cleveland.
So when CleaveLand opened at a new location in Strongsville at 17024 Pearl Rd, I was overjoyed. The other week, I visited the new location, and I’m glad to say that I still think the unassuming grocery store offers one of the best burgers – if not the best burger – in the Cleveland area.
I got the beef cheeseburger combo ($12.99), which came with a side of fries. The burger came with cheddar cheese and sauce, and I added lettuce and tomato, which cost an extra 50 cents each.
The burger was freaking delicious. The two beef patties were smash-burger-style and though they were thin, they managed to remain incredibly juicy while possessing delightfully crispy edges. Furthermore, unlike some burger places, the patties themselves were fantastically seasoned. With some burger places, I had to rely on the toppings and sauce for flavor, but that was not the case at CleaveLand because the beef patty itself had a lot of flavor. The sauce and cheese added flavor to the burger but were not the sole sources of it. The bun was also great and held up well while maintaining softness.
