A 14-year-old Virginia boy with learning disabilities became an entrepreneur making $5K an hour

PEOPLE magazine shared a very touching story about a 14-year-old Virginia boy with learning disabilities who became an entrepreneur making up to $5K an hour.

About Tucker Findley

Five years ago, when Tucker Findley was nine years old, he was failing in school because of his severe learning disabilities and a neurological condition. Therefore, he couldn’t read, write or even count past 10.

Now, at age 14, Tucker has a six-figure career in selling memorabilia online.

Tucker’s journey began when he was 9. He was playing with friends near his Sterling, Virginia home, where water flows downstream from two golf courses.

Tucker recalled:

“I found golf balls everywhere. I collected them, cleaned them up, and then listed them for sale on Facebook Marketplace.”

The golf ball sold quickly. For example, 2,000 were sold in three days. Tucker used his profits to buy more balls. He still collected the used balls and used his entrepreneurial spirit by hiring friends to help him find and clean the balls at 5 cents each. He soon purchased a kayak to assist in the search for more balls.
