Five people were hospitalized after violence erupted at a house party in the Inland Empire late Saturday, authorities say.
According to the Riverside Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 11200 block of Town and Country Drive around 10:30 p.m. after police received a 911 call regarding a shooting with multiple victims.
Upon arriving at the scene, a residential neighborhood directly adjacent to the 91 Freeway, five victims were located, four of whom were shot and one of whom was stabbed.
The victims were all transported to hospitals, with one in critical condition, Riverside police told KTLA.
A sixth person – believed to be the suspect – also suffered a stab wound, law enforcement officials added. He was in police custody while receiving treatment.
“It appears this shooting may have stemmed from an altercation at a party,” a spokesperson with the Riverside Police Department said. “Our Robbery-Homicide Detectives have responded to the scene and are investigating.”
