There’s just something about a divisional game that never disappoints. Specifically, games between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, who met in Week 11. The AFC North matchup occurred for a 61st time on Nov. 17, with the Steelers improving to 36-25 all-time against the Ravens with a 18-16 win.
But their latest matchup had some abnormal flare to it, with linebacker Patrick Queen facing off against his former team for the first time. Originally drafted to Baltimore in 2020, he signed a three-year, $41 million deal with Pittsburgh last summer.
“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” Head coach Mike Tomlin said of Queen postgame on Nov. 17 . “I’m glad he’s on our team.”
Queen showed the Ravens what they’re missing on Sunday, forcing a fumble at the end of the first half, and helping the Steelers to a 9-7 lead at halftime. He revealed in the days leading up to the game that he never received a contract offer from Baltimore in free agency.
“I wasn’t wanted back,” Queen said on Nov. 13, according to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor . “I didn’t get an offer back. It’s definitely kind of upsetting, being there for four years, the bond that you grow with your teammates. At the end of the day, the first few months, you definitely go through those feelings.”
