BASKIN, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – A highway that passes through the hometown of a country music star from northern Louisiana has just been renamed after her.
Part of Louisiana Highway 15, which passes from LA Highway 577 to the parish line at Big Creek through Laney Wilson’s hometown of Baskin, Louisiana, is now called the Lainey Wilson Highway .
The Country Music Association award winner and Louisiana Music Ambassador was at the unveiling of a Northeast Louisiana Music Trail marker meant to honor her place in country music history.
Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser named Wilson a Louisiana Music Ambassador back in 2022.
Wilson won the New Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and the 57th Annual CMA Entertainer of the Year award(s) at the CMAs.
