Hillsborough County, FL – A tragic hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a 19-year-old Guatemalan bicyclist on Saturday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The incident occurred on November 16, 2024, at approximately 8:20 PM on SR-674, west of 4th Street.
Authorities report that an early model red Dodge Charger with black rims, traveling eastbound on SR-674, overtook and collided with the bicyclist who was also heading east. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving behind front-end vehicle parts as evidence.
Emergency responders transported the bicyclist to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending family notification.
