(FOX40.COM) — The City of Stockton will soon host its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony alongside festivities such as food and holiday entertainment.
The event will include snowfall, free hot chocolate and cookies, and a photo opportunity with Santa Claus and the Grinch, according to a recent press release. There will also be food trucks and a lighted boat parade compliments of the Stockton Yacht Club, Roger Hahn, and other registered boaters.

The event is scheduled for Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Weber Point Events Center, 221 N. Center Street. Gates will open at 3 p.m. Organizers recommend that guests arrive early.
Holiday workshops
In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, the City of Stockton will host a variety of Holiday workshops from 5-9 p.m. the week before Christmas:
• Dec. 16: Van Buskirk Community Center, 734 Houston Ave.
• Dec. 17: Arnold Rue Community Center, 5758 Lorraine Ave.
• Dec. 18: Seifert Community Center,128 W. Benjamin Holt Dr.
• Dec. 19: Stribley Community Center, 1760 E. Sonora Street.
