Following my October 29th article about four new supermarkets, there’s exciting news of 2 major openings and one more store from a major national chain planned for Florida. Let’s first focus on the imminent openings.
- Amazon-owned Whole Foods Market will be opening its doors to the public in Boynton Beach on December 10th. The store will be located at 7395 Boynton Beach Blvd.
- Publix has also announced an opening. This one will be at 9179 Babcock St SE, in Palm Bay. It will open for business on December 5th.
Lastly, Aldi continues its rapid expansion in Florida. A new location is coming to 10300 Southwest Discovery Way, Port St. Lucie. While there’s no specific grand opening date yet, the store is slated to open “soon.” This growth is part of Aldi’s ambitious national expansion plan announced in March, aiming to open 800 locations by the end of 2028. The company also reported acquiring Southeastern Grocers, owners of Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s Supermarket. Many of these acquired locations will gradually be converted to Aldi stores.
