Carrots Sold at Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and More Recalled in Connection With E. Coli Outbreak

Before you chop those carrots, do yourself a huge favor and make sure they weren’t impacted by the massive recall activated by an apparent link between the veggie and the most recent E. coli outbreak.

Grimmway Farms is recalling dozens of varieties of baby carrots sold at stores all over the country—including Trader Joe’s , Target , Whole Foods , Walmart , Wegmans , Sprouts, ShopRite, Stop & Shop and several others—following 39 E. coli infections that emerged between Sept. 6 and Oct. 28 across 18 states. Washington, Minnesota and New York reported the highest number of cases, per a statement from the CDC . One death was also reported.

According to an official notice from the FDA, the following products were shipped directly to retail distribution centers nationwide in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada and have been voluntarily recalled over concerns the carrots could be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria:
