COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Domestic Violence Awareness Month has ended, but the effort to find fugitive suspects continues.
In this week’s Warrant Watch, the search for a man accused of holding people inside an apartment at gunpoint.
Investigators said the incident started because of an argument.
Columbus police have identified two of the suspects and are searching for a third.
During October – Domestic Violence Awareness Month – deputy U.S. Marshals and their law enforcement partners focused on serving warrants for domestic violence cases; the fugitive apprehension team made 52 arrests.
“I think it was very successful, but it’s an ongoing thing,” U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio Michael Black said. “That month was one thing, but we’re not going to stop.”
That included the search for Jason Rushton, 22, who is facing 11 charges from a domestic violence case, among them aggravated burglary, kidnapping, and robbery. One of the victims is a woman who is familiar to Rushton.
