Duo on the run after allegedly using counterfeit money to buy gift cards

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — Southaven Police are looking for two people they say tried to use counterfeit cash to buy thousands of dollars worth of gift cards.

Police cruiser after police cruiser were parked along Church and Getwell Road on Sunday night.

Now WREG has learned that officers were looking for two men wanted for trying to buy more than $2,000 worth of gift cards using counterfeit $100 and $50 bills at the CVS off Church Road.

Southaven Police said when they arrived at the store, one man took off and officers chased him into the neighborhood next to CVS.

He was identified as 23-year-old Coreion Walker from Memphis.

Suspect arrested after shooting man who refused to leave his property: MPD

A perimeter was set up to catch Walker and a second unidentified man but after a long search, the two are still on the run.

In Shelby County, someone also with the name Corieon Walker has been arrested and wanted for similar crimes.

WREG asked Southaven Police for more information to try to get a picture of Walker to share. So far, we have not heard back.
