Woman charged with threatening mass violence against Nashville school

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) arrested a woman in connection with a threat of mass violence to a Nashville school reported last month.

Multiple employees at Metro Christian Academy reportedly received an email on Oct. 27 threatening a mass shooting, according to a press release from the MNPD. Classes were cancelled on Oct. 28.

Yaa-Adriel Poku, 27, allegedly sent a message to the Goodlettsville Police Department attempting to blame her ex-husband for the threatening emails. Her ex-husband has full custody of their 4-year-old child, according to the MNPD, and the emails “were an apparent ploy to regain custody of the child.”

Poku lives in Seattle, but she arrived in Nashville Monday and was arrested at the Nashville International Airport (BNA). Poku faces more charges in connection with the child custody issue.
