The rain we got yesterday will taper off this morning, and we should get a break from precipitation this afternoon and evening. A wintry mix or even snow is possible tomorrow , which is unlikely to accumulate but could make for slick roads.
Solar panels are taking off in the North Shore
Claudia Levens looks into the popularity of solar panels in the North Shore communities of Milwaukee . Higher incomes in the area mean more homeowners can afford the steep up-front costs, which can be paid back within nine to 12 years.
Solar is contagious, industry experts say. “The single greatest indicator that one of our customers is going to get solar is if one of their neighbors have it,” said JD Smith from Arch, one of the state’s largest solar installation companies.
Local governments are also choosing solar panels for public buildings, partly because they can leverage federal incentives and save on energy costs. Whitefish Bay is looking to add solar to the library’s roof. Real estate companies are also getting in on solar arrays.
