SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — At least one person has died in a crash Monday afternoon on State Route 52 near the Clairemont neighborhood of San Diego, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol traffic incident information page showed the crash happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the area of eastbound SR-52 and Regents Road. The center lane was blocked due to the crash, Caltrans posted on X , formerly Twitter, around 2:55 p.m.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of Regents Road were also closed due to the incident. SigAlert shows traffic backed up west toward Interstate 5. Drivers are being told to expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
Multiple road closures have been reported as authorities respond to the crash. The northbound and southbound connector ramps from Interstate 5 to eastbound SR-52 have been closed, as well as the eastbound La Jolla Parkway on-ramp to eastbound SR-52.
