Warm through Wednesday, snow lurks for Thursday/Friday

Tonight features mostly cloudy skies with only a stray isolated sprinkle risk. With the clouds hanging tough and a light southeast breeze, temperatures will only dip back into the mid 40s, which is mild for this time of the year.

Tuesday sees our rain chances increasing throughout the day, as a warm front lifts north during the morning, and a cold front approaches late in the day. Scattered showers will be a good bet as a result, mainly in the afternoon, where a quarter to a half inch of rain can be expected between the afternoon and overnight hours. With a southerly breeze continuing, we’ll see temperatures warm up nicely with highs around 60 degrees. Showers will continue into the overnight hours, mainly before midnight with yet another mild night on the way as temperatures only fall back into the low 50s.

Wednesday features continued mostly cloudy conditions, with scattered showers returning in the afternoon after a mostly dry morning. Despite the clouds, once again we will see temperatures jump up into the 60s with our southerly breeze in place – low to mid 60s are likely – as another front will scoot through the region during the late afternoon and evening. This front will bring some DRAMATICALLY colder air into the picture Wednesday night and into the rest of the week. Rain showers will switch to snow showers Wednesday night as temperatures plummet to around 30 degrees.
