Remnants of Sara enter the southern Gulf of Mexico

BAY OF CAMPECHE — What was once Tropical Storm Sara is now entering the Gulf of Mexico, and will contribute to heavy rain for the north-central Gulf Coast states, heading into Tuesday morning.

Even though Sara is no longer a tropical system, there is still an area of remnant deep moisture that is expected to get absorbed into the larger-scale atmospheric pattern of the atmosphere over the next 24 hours.

This moisture will conspire with a cold front, currently moving through Texas, and bring heavy rain on Tuesday for Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
