A dream 10 years in the making

Good morning, Cincinnati!

Ten years ago, Allen Woods, Derrick Braziel and William Thomas started Mortar , a program designed to help minority entrepreneurs launch their businesses . In 2016, they eyed a historic building on Gilbert Avenue to be their headquarters.

With Woods now CEO of Mortar, and Braziel and Thomas having since started their own companies (but still serving on the board), Mortar’s headquarters and a co-working space opens in that Gilbert Avenue building Friday.

As the City Hall reporter, I’ve watched their dream come to life.
