(WNY News Now) – Deputies responding to a disturbance in Mayville uncovered a prohibited firearm possession, leading to the arrest of a local man. Mayville, NY – In the early hours of November 19, 2024, at approximately 12:02 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in Mayville for reports of an unwanted individual. Upon investigation, 44-year-old Robert K. Shumaker Jr., of Mayville, was found in possession of a loaded firearm.
