Police say on November 16, law enforcement were given information about five missing endangered children taken from Texas by their biological mother and fled the state. A be on the lookout was issued for a black SAAB sedan with Texas plates. An automatic license plate reader picked up the vehicle and officers located it at a Loves Travel Center near Lordsburg, New Mexico.
Police arrested the mother of the children, identified as Qwaunice Tippitt, 31, she was with Charles Jones, 32, at the time. Both were arrested on kidnapping charges. NMSP says the children were safely transported to the Lordsburg State Police Office and were picked up by representatives from Texas Child Protective Services.
