BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Thanksgiving holiday is right around the corner. Organizations in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas will host free food giveaways before Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is the season of giving and spending time with families and friends. It is always on the last Thursday of November. This year, the holiday is on Nov. 28.
If you are looking to pick up a Thanksgiving meal or items to prepare for your Thanksgiving dinners, several places will be offering giveaways during the holiday season.

Capitol Wellness Solutions’ Thanksgiving Dinner Package Giveaway
- When and where : 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Anna T. Jordan Community Park, 1750 Stilt St.
- When and where : 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 at Longfellow Community Park, 5201 Longfellow Drive.
- Louisiana’s medical marijuana industry is offering 2,000 dinner packages to families in the area. The packages include chicken, yams, stuffing, cranberry dressing and gravy.
