Lanai Ariyana Dees, a 21-year-old woman from Inglewood, California, was tragically shot and killed early Sunday morning in South Los Angeles.
Her body was found in a white Mercedes that had crashed in an alleyway , leaving her family devastated and desperate for answers. The heartbreaking discovery has prompted a homicide investigation in the shooting as authorities search for the suspect responsible for gunning down the tragic woman.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies responded to the 2000 block of Century Boulevard near Wilton Place at 12:46 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Dees in the driver’s seat of her wrecked car, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, the incident was reported as a traffic collision. Responding officers and the L.A. City Fire Department arrived to find that the car had crashed into a concrete structure in the alley. However, upon further investigation, they discovered that Dees had been shot prior to the collision. Video footage from the scene shows investigators examining the white Mercedes, which was cordoned off as part of the crime scene.
