Man Shot in Head in Historic South Central Los Angeles

HISTORIC SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19 (KNN) — Los Angeles Police Department Newton Division units responded to reports of a shooting with a victim down at 11:21 p.m. Monday, in the 100 block of West 25th Street in Historic South Central Los Angeles.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 30-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the LAPD.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital. According to Margaret Stewart, a spokesperson for the LAFD, the victim was in fair condition.

Officer Lee, an LAPD spokesperson, told KNN that the suspect, described as a White male approximately 30 years old wearing dark clothing, fled the scene in a dark-colored Toyota Camry.

It is not known at this time if this was a random shooting, gang-related, or if the suspect and victim know each other.

The shooting remains under investigation.
