Work continues on the former Avalon Hotel as the new developers look to transform it into affordable workforce housing.
It’s a night and day difference to see the Avalon Hotel before work began to where it is now.

The inside of the former Avalon Hotel is being worked on from the lobby all the way to the top floor of the building.
Basic demolition and the staging of all of the units have been done and everything from flooring, appliances, cabinets and more are on site, waiting to be installed.
“The bigger part is the deferred maintenance and preparing them while making sure that we have all of the supplies. We’ve staged all of the supplies and are ready to go forward with that,” said David Mitchell, co-founder of Goodhomes Communities.
Hotel rooms throughout the rest of the hotel are being totally re-imagined for residential use.
