Alleged ringleader in fraud scheme arrested after 3-year long investigation

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The alleged ringleader of a nationwide fraud scheme has been arrested following a 3-year-long investigation.

According to the Evansville Police Department, the Felony Lane Gang’s tactic is stealing women’s purses and using their stolen ID’s and checks to defraud banks.

As previously reported in 2021, a New Jersey woman, Jennifer Tritto, was arrested in Vanderburgh County in connection to this scheme . Police say a car that was broken into resulted in a stolen purse. Tritto claimed she received the stolen ID from the leader of the crew, who was later identified as Carderrece Frazier.

Authorities say the SUV Tritto was driving at the time of her arrest had a plate with a fingerprint on it which came back to Frazier. Additional surveillance video from several different locations showed Frazier and Tritto together with another individual, Phillip Sibblis. It is said Sibblis and Frazier were also near the area when Tritto was arrested.

Police believed Frazier and Sibblis were living in Florida, and requested an extraditable warrant.
