Hospital opens new Emergency Room in South Asheville

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – Mission Hospital has announced the opening of a new South Asheville Emergency Room at 2512 Hendersonville Road in Arden. The ER comes with 11 exam rooms, an on-site laboratory and diagnostic imaging services such as CT and X-ray. The new ER will allow a place for critical patients to be stabilized before being transported to a hospital.

The urge for a new ER was in response to emergency departments across the country seeing an influx of patients experiencing longer wait times.

In a media release, chief operating officer of Mission Hospital Wyatt Chocklett stated that “expanding our services to the Arden area helps us provide emergency care in a more convenient location for these community members. We currently see thousands of patients from these neighborhoods and look forward to caring for them closer to home.”

Mission Hospital is located in Asheville, North Carolina, and is one of the region’s three locations, and includes the only children’s hospital in Western North Carolina.
