The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was conducting a “death investigation” Tuesday after a body was found just outside Coachella and Indio.
Deputies were dispatched to the 83-000 block of Avenue 51 for a reported dead body at 12:31 p.m., Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said.
Deputies were still at the scene, she said two hours later, adding that no other details were immediately available.
Although the sheriff’s department didn’t provide an exact address, that block is in an unincorporated area between the city limits of Coachella and Indio, a little over a mile east of the Empire Polo Club.
