The Nebraska Huskers women’s basketball team remained undefeated on Tuesday, using strong early defense and good shooting to tame the North Alabama Lions in an 85-48 win.
The 21st-ranked Cornhuskers started out fast and cruised from there.
North Alabama shot just 12.5% from the field in the first quarter, allowing Nebraska to build an early 15-4 lead.

The Big Red wasn’t as sharp offensively as it was last time out, against South Dakota. However, the Huskers dominated on the glass and in the paint to not only build that early lead but also continue to grow it.
By halftime, Nebraska had grabbed 10 more rebounds than North Alabama and outscored the Lions 16-2 in the paint en route to a 36-16 lead.
Nebraska’s defense relaxed a bit coming out of the break, allowing the Lions to score more in just the third than in the entire first half. However, the Huskers also started hitting more shots and kept pulling away, never giving the Lions any chance for a comeback.
