The city turned part of State Street into a pedestrian mall this summer. Dubbed “Flock to State,” the experiment closed the lower blocks of State Street to vehicle traffic. It featured giant flamingos, confetti dots painted on the street , more places to sit, and community events to drive foot traffic.
