In reverse rare move, Texas company is relocating headquarters to California

Iconic workwear brand Dickies is relocating its headquarters from Fort Worth, Texas, to Costa Mesa, California, by May 2025. The decision aligns with parent company VF Corporation’s strategy to consolidate operations and foster collaboration among its brands, including Vans and The North Face. VF acquired Dickies in 2017 for $820 million.

The move will affect approximately 120 employees. VF stated the transition aims to create “a vibrant campus” in Costa Mesa, fostering creativity and innovation. Vans’ headquarters, a 182,000-square-foot facility on South Coast Drive, will host Dickies.

Founded in Fort Worth in 1922, Dickies’ departure marks the end of an era for the Texas city, where its name remains prominent on a 14,000-seat arena. Orange County, home to brands like PacSun and Tillys, solidifies its status as a retail hub.
