The Minnesota Timberwolves sent a shockwave through the NBA before the season began when they traded Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks. While Towns has only spent a month with his new team, he’s off to a career-best start and has revived a Minnesota sports tale as old as time.
In 14 games with the Knicks, Towns is currently averaging 26.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists. Town’s scoring average would be a career-high, surpassing his 26.5 points per game during the 2019-20 season and his highest rebound average since pulling down a career-best 12.4 rebounds per game since the 2018-19 season.
The big man is also shooting a career-best .551 from the floor, including a .500 clip from 3-point range, knocking down 2.6 treys per game – his highest rate since he made 3.3 3-pointers per game during the 2019-20 season.
