WESTLAKE, OH – Though I’m very much an omnivore, I’m open to trying vegan cuisine. Good food is good food, whether or not it has meat (and meatless cuisine is better for the environment!).
Early in the year, I went to Bodhi Express, a restaurant in Westlake’s Crocker Park at 135 Market St. Bodhi Express is like a 100% vegan version of Panda Express. During my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant’s plant-based food. Fortunately, during my most recent visit, I continued to be impressed by the vegan options at Bodhi.
I ordered a medium combo ($11), which comes with 2 entrees and 2 sides. For my entrees, I picked Beijing mushrooms and orange “chicken.” As for my sides, I opted for fried rice and lo mein. I also ordered vegetable spring rolls ($4) and a Thai milk tea ($6), which bless my lactose-intolerant body, was made with dairy-free oat milk.
The vegetable spring rolls were hot and crispy. The filling inside was well-seasoned, and the rolls were great when dipped into the accompanying duck sauce (despite its name, the sauce isn’t made with duck meat. No ducks were harmed in the production of the sauce). The two rolls were also decently sized for the price.
