- My kids wanted to donate toys to other kids after a hurricane hit our town. I’m so proud of them. (newsbreak.com)
After Hurricane Helene struck our city, my daughters and I wanted to help those in need. I remembered the KonMari method of decluttering and decided to teach it to my girls.
The KonMari method involves holding each item and asking if it sparks joy. If not, it’s time to donate it.
At first, my daughters struggled with letting go of their belongings. But after some practice, they became enthusiastic about giving their toys to other children.
Together, we filled a large bag with stuffed animals that no longer sparked joy. My girls thanked the animals for bringing them joy and wished them well in their new homes.
I was so proud of my daughters for being able to let go of their once-loved possessions to help others. Despite the devastation caused by the hurricane, we found hope and joy in giving back to our community.
