Man’s body pulled from Lake Michigan near Burnham Harbor: Chicago police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man was pulled out of Lake Michigan near Burnham Harbor on Sunday morning, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

Officials said the CPD Marine Unit found the man  shortly after 9 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not share any details regarding the man’s identity, how old he was, or how long he had been lost underwater.

According to the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project , which tracks drownings in the Great Lakes, more than 50 people have drowned or disappeared in Lake Michigan so far in 2024.
