Pedestrian struck and killed on Hwy 101 in Lane County

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday evening on Highway 101 near milepost 192, according to the Oregon State Police. The crash occurred just after 8 p.m. when 40-year-old Garrick Wall of Florence attempted to cross the highway in a dark, unlit area near S. Loftus Road, outside of a designated crosswalk. Wall, wearing dark-colored clothing, was struck by a southbound GMC Terrain in the left lane, driven by 58-year-old James Harpole of Cheshire.
