PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A “severely hypothermic” kayaker was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after he fell into the waters of the Siuslaw River and was not able to help himself.
Officials said the Friday rescue took place near the mouth of the river.
The man, who was not identified, was taken by the Coast Guard to a hospital for further treatment. His condition is not known.
In their Facebook post, officials said : “Bravo Zulu to Air Station North Bend and Coast Guard Station Siuslaw River for remaining semper paratus !”
