UCLA Stuns No. 1 South Carolina, Ending 43-Game Win Streak

In a historic upset, No. 5 UCLA has defeated the top-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks 77-62, snapping their remarkable 43-game win streak and 33-game road victory run.

Londynn Jones led the Bruins with 15 points, sinking all five of her three-pointers. Te-Hina Paopao and Tessa Johnson scored 18 and 14 points, respectively, for South Carolina.

UCLA’s defense proved suffocating, preventing South Carolina from finding any rhythm. The Bruins led by double digits at halftime for the first time in nearly two years.

The first quarter proved crucial, with South Carolina missing their first nine shots. UCLA capitalized with an 11-point run.

The Bruins also controlled the rebounds, outmuscling the Gamecocks 41-34.

This victory marks UCLA’s first-ever win over a No. 1 team. The Bruins previously held a 0-20 record in such games.

South Carolina travels to Florida for a Thanksgiving matchup with Iowa State, while UCLA heads to Hawaii to face UT Martin.
