A storm system moving over the West Coast on Monday morning could bring rain showers and possible snow Thursday to Central Indiana, a potential hazard to Thanksgiving travel, one of the busiest days to be out on the road.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis say there’s still some uncertainty, however, about the storm system’s path — if it veers south, Indiana could be left mostly dry. But if the storm pushes northward, Hoosiers might need to adjust their travel plans.
Here’s what we know as of Monday.
Will it snow on Thanksgiving in Indiana: Two storm systems could bring winter weather
Yes, according to a social media post issued Monday by NWS , Central Indiana has a chance of seeing snow or rain on Thanksgiving depending on what direction the storm system takes.
“It’s an interesting system,” said NWS meteorologist Aaron Updike. “There’s actually two storm systems involved and it’s going to depend if they combine into one or pass by separately, so there’s still some uncertainty.”
