- Travis Kalanick, Marc Andreessen, and other Silicon Valley leaders are reportedly getting involved with Elon Musk’s DOGE (newsbreak.com)
Elon Musk has tasked Tesla CEO Vivek Ramaswamy with establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an advisory group aimed at reducing government spending.
Musk plans to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget to improve efficiency. He seeks the assistance of Silicon Valley executives, including Steve Davis and Antonio Gracias, who played roles in his Twitter acquisition.
Joe Lonsdale, Marc Andreessen, Bill Ackman, and Travis Kalanick are among the Silicon Valley figures involved in DOGE’s early planning.
DOGE’s X account is seeking highly intelligent and committed individuals willing to work long hours to identify cost-cutting measures.
Musk and Ramaswamy will review the top 1% of applicants. DOGE, while headed by the two executives, will not have direct authority over budget changes, as Congress retains that power.
Musk aims to create a leaderboard highlighting “insanely dumb” government spending to increase transparency and solicit public feedback.
All DOGE activities will be published online to ensure transparency.
