A woman accused in the death of a 13-year-old boy in a hit-and-run accident has been arrested, according to online records from the Fort Worth Police Department.
Precious Crosby, 33, has been charged with one count of collision involving death, and was booked into the Tarrant County Jail Monday morning, according to online jail records.
The victim, 13-year-old Apollo Rogers, was using the crosswalk when a speeding Jeep Cherokee ran a red light and hit him. He was crossing the street with his sister following an after-school event on Nov. 14. The crash occurred in the 3700 block of Stalcup Road at the intersection with Berry Street in east Fort Worth.
Rogers’ stepmother Tarena Carter described him as “helpful, sweet and responsible,” and said that he was interested in pursuing a career in computer science.
A GoFundMe for Rogers’ funeral expenses has raised over half of its $12,000 goal.
Additional information regarding Crosby’s arrest was not immediately available Monday night.
