Heavy Showers & Heavy Snow Expected Across Parts of California

Moisture-Laden Storm to Soak San Francisco & Bring 1-3ft of Snow Across the Mountains

11/25/24 9:17am EST

Good morning everyone. We’re watching our next sizeable storm system come ashore across parts of Washington, Oregon, and California this morning.

While not as powerful as the two previous systems, this one is packing a punch moisture-wise. It’s expected to bring heavy showers & thunderstorms from San Francisco on southward through central California, just to the north of Los Angeles. Meanwhile, very heavy snows are expected across the Sierra mountain range.

Heavy rain and rumbles have already crossed the central coast into the Valley, while snows are just beginning. In some cases, 1-3ft of snow is expected across the mountain ranges. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issed a Winter Storm Warning for higher elevations of the Sierra mountain range until 4am Wednesday PST.

As that storm moves to the east, we’re expecting heavy snows to head across Wasatch mountains of Utah and the Gore & Elk mountains of Colorado. Here too, we could see snow totals in the 1-3ft range and winds in excess of 50mph. Heavy snows are expected to impact the region from midnight tonight through Wednesday night.
