UFC star Conor McGregor has apologized for cheating on his long-term partner, Dee Devlin, following a civil case.
McGregor admitted that he made a mistake by entertaining the advances of Nikita Ni Lamhain after a 2018 Christmas party.
“I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world,” he said.
Despite apologizing, McGregor maintained that his actions were consensual and intends to appeal the court’s decision.
McGregor and Devlin have been together for many years, and Devlin supported him throughout the trial.
Ni Lamhain was awarded $250,000 in damages after a jury found McGregor liable for assault.
McGregor has now vowed to put the situation behind him and focus on his return to the fight ring.
