Legislative Bonanza: Governor Hochul Signs Multiple Consumer-Friendly Bills

On Monday, Governor Kathy Hochul signed a series of bills aimed at enhancing the shopping experience. Hochul also signed Melanie’s Law on Monday, which addresses a legal loophole in cases involving domestic abuse.

According to a press release, the governor’s office also announced a “customer experience strategy…transforming how New Yorkers interact with government services and improving government operations on a day-to-day basis” that aims to streamline state services like the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Following the release of a Trump Administration plan to cut hundreds of billions of dollars in government spending, Hochul announced the new project.
