Fugitive Terrorist Captured after Decade-Long Manhunt

The FBI has apprehended Daniel Andreas San Diego, a fugitive on their “Most Wanted Terrorists” list for over a decade. San Diego was allegedly involved in two animal rights-related bombings in California in the early 2000s.

FBI Director Christopher Wray emphasized that the capture sends a clear message: “The FBI will find you and hold you accountable.” He condemned the use of violence and property destruction as inappropriate forms of protest.

San Diego, a 46-year-old from Berkeley, California, was first placed on the “Most Wanted” list in 2009. He had a $250,000 reward for his capture. The FBI, with the assistance of UK authorities, tracked him down in Wales.

Investigators believe San Diego is linked to animal rights extremist groups. He adheres to a vegan diet, is skilled in computer networking, and has traveled internationally. The FBI described a distinctive tattoo on his chest featuring burning hillsides and the words “it only takes a spark.”

San Diego faces charges including malicious destruction of property and possession of explosives in connection with the bombings in Emeryville and Pleasanton in 2003.
