Suspect found hiding on roof of business after unsuccessful robbery attempt

Police in the Inland Empire have arrested a man who allegedly tried to rob a Jack in the Box and then fled to a nearby business’ rooftop.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to the Jack in the Box located at Seventh Street and La Paz Drive in Victorville around 7 p.m. Monday.

When they arrived, one of the drive-thru workers said she had been held at knifepoint by the suspect, who attempted to rob her and failed before leaving the location.

The suspect was later identified as 22-year-old Hector Anthony Delrio, a transient in the Victorville area, SBSD said.

Investigators were able to locate Delrio on the roof of DD’s Discount Store, a business across the street from the Jack in the Box. He was taken into custody and charged with attempted robbery.
