John Tinniswood, who briefly held the title of the world’s oldest man, passed away at 112 in a care home in Southport, England.
Tinniswood was born in Liverpool in 1912 and attributed his longevity to luck. He did not credit any specific diet or lifestyle factors, but he did enjoy fish and chips every Friday.
In addition to being the oldest living man, Tinniswood was also the oldest surviving male World War II veteran. He held the title of Oldest Living Man for a short time following the death of Juan Vicente PĂ©rez of Venezuela in April 2024.
Tinniswood was predeceased by his wife, Blodwen, and is survived by a daughter, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Guinness World Records has yet to name the new holder of the record for oldest living man.
