Warrant issued for L.A. man accused of running down teen bicyclist

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Los Angeles man who now faces charges in connection with the hit-and-run that killed a 16-year-old boy on a bicycle near BMO Stadium last week.

The deadly encounter happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 when, according to the California Highway Patrol, there was an altercation between a group of around 40 bicyclists and the driver of a blue BMW on Figueroa Street near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The confrontation moved into the parking lot at BMO Stadium, where the victim, 16-year-old Jonathan “Junior” Flores , was struck by the driver of a black Honda sedan.

Both drivers fled the scene, leaving Flores to die in the middle of MLK Boulevard.

In an update on Wednesday, CHP announced that detectives executed a search warrant at a home in L.A. on Nov. 23, where they seized both vehicles believed to be involved in the incident.
