Armed domestic violence suspect shot by L.A. police on live TV dies

A 37-year-old domestic violence suspect who led police on a dramatic pursuit before pulling two guns on officers on live television has died a day after police opened fire on him, officials announced Wednesday.

The harrowing Nov. 26 ordeal unfolded at around 12:15 p.m. when officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division responded to an assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence suspect in the area of South Gaffey and West 19 th streets in San Pedro.

The suspect, later identified as Aundre Jones, was following a public transit bus operated by a woman he had a child with and a prior dating relationship, police said.

Behind the wheel of a white Maserati and armed with two 9mm semiautomatic handguns, Jones led police in a high-speed chase on the 110 Freeway after refusing to pull over.

As the chase continued, footage captured by Sky5 shows the 37-year-old pulling into the rear parking lot of a West Adams apartment complex in the 4100 block of Jefferson Boulevard.
